As we reflect on the past year, I am filled with deep gratitude for the compassion and generosity that define our Ronald McDonald House Wichita community. Because of you—our donors, volunteers, partners, and advocates—we have been able to provide comfort, care, and a place to call home for families navigating some of life’s most challenging moments.
In 2025, we experienced a significant increase in the number of families seeking our services. Shifts in rural healthcare have meant that more families must travel farther from home to access critical medical care for their children. For many, this journey brings not only emotional strain but also financial and logistical burdens. Your support has ensured that, even as the need grows, families continue to find warmth, stability, and community within our walls.
As we look ahead, we are thoughtfully evaluating opportunities to expand our capacity and services to meet this rising demand. While growth brings both excitement and complexity, our commitment remains unwavering: to keep families close to the care they need and to each other during difficult times.
None of this is possible without you. There are many meaningful ways to continue supporting our mission—from financial contributions and event participation to volunteering your time and sharing our story within the community. Each act of generosity strengthens our ability to serve and reminds families that they are not alone.

The mission of Ronald McDonald House Wichita is to provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare.
Ronald McDonald House Wichita has two core programs – Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald House Family Room. Our vision is a world where every family has what they need to ensure the best health outcomes for their children.

As a local 501(c)3 organization, we are funded almost entirely by our Kansas community. Money raised here stays here, allowing us to provide a life-changing community of support for families, We are proud and humbled that the investments made by you throughout 2025 helped provide free-night-stays, delicious meals, innovative family-centered programs, and more.
Ronald McDonald House Wichita serves families who travel far from home for their child’s healthcare needs. Our Ronald McDonald House provides families with all the comforts of home, all just steps away from the hospital. We believe the entire family needs comfort and support when a child is sick and should be fully involved with health care providers about the care and services their child receives.
Our Ronald McDonald House Family Room is directly inside the hospital and adjacent to the pediatric wards. We provide home-like, quiet spaces that give families the ability to rest and recharge during the long days of testing or treatment. In the Ronald McDonald House Family Room: Wesley Children’s Hospital families will find a comfortable place to relax, food, personal care items and laundry facilities.

Families who live at least 30 miles outside of Wichita have a safe and comfortable, temporary, home. Families also have amenities such as a private room + bath, home cooked meals, toiletries, laundry facilities, free parking, WiFi, and caring support from staff and other families.

Our Baker & Meal program is a staple of the Ronald McDonald House Wichita family experience, and we are proud of the many ways this program fills bellies, offers nutrition and sustenance, and removes major food burdens from the shoulder of our families.

Our Family Room is located on the 5th floor at Wesley Children’s Hospital. It is a place of respite just steps away from your child’s hospital bed. In the Family Room, families will find a comfortable place to relax, food, personal care items, laundry facilities, and a TV. There is no fee to visit the Family Room.

Our Care Cart Program at Wesley Children’s Hospital is a dedicated initiative designed to provide comfort and support to families with children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Pediatric Department (PEDS), Pediatric Oncology, and Pediatric Infusion. Operating within the hospital’s Family Room, the Care Cart is a beacon of warmth and assistance for parents and guardians who prefer to remain by their child’s bedside.
Stocked with an array of sweets, snacks, and coffee, the Care Cart ensures that families have access to nourishment and refreshments.
The Care Cart Program is a success because of our volunteers who generously give their time and energy to ensure its smooth operation. The Care Cart with the volunteers dedication, is able to spread cheer and sustenance to those who need it most once or twice a day.
