When a child is in the hospital, parents often don’t want to leave their bedside, even for a meal or a shower. The Ronald McDonald House Family Room gives families a place to rest and recharge without leaving the hospital, so they can stay close to their child and step back in whenever they’re needed.
Located inside Wesley Children’s Hospital (Building 1, 5th floor, between the Pediatric and Pediatric Intensive Care Units), the Family Room offers a quiet place to relax, snacks and meals, hygiene items and laundry, all at no cost. Our Ronald McDonald Hospitality Cart Program provides bedside amenities and comfort to parents and other caregivers while they remain with their hospitalized child.
Several times a week volunteers make rounds in the Pediatric and Pediatric Intensive Care units with the hospitality cart to provide items of care and comfort to the parents and siblings of hospitalized kids. The cart is filled with complimentary breakfast items, snacks, and coffee so parents can care for themselves without leaving their child’s side.
